27-October-2026
Mon Oct 26 the Ridgefield Park Fourth of July
Committee held their first meeting for the 2027 133rd Ridgefield Park Fourth of
July Celebration.
First, the 2027 Ridgefield Park Fourth of July Celebration will be held on Monday July 5.
Some correspondences were read. One was from the Chairperson of the Honor Students section. She said due to a change in schedules she could not hold this post. But will be available if needed. A second letter was read from New Jersey Governor Ms. Mikie Sherrill congratulating the Fourth of July Committee, and all of Ridgefield Park for the successful event.
The sub committee's chairpersons gave some brief reports. The Chairperson of the Civic Parade announced that two bands will not be a part of the 2027 parade because they have disbanded. One band was the Colonial Ancients Fife and Drum Corps which had their 50th year in the parade. He has started to contact other bands if they would be interested in marching in Ridgefield Park.
The Chairperson of the Baby and Youth Parade Committee only announcement was to ask for ideas for a theme of the 2027 Parade. Ideas will be presented at the next meeting.
The rest of the meeting dealt with general issues. One was to fill openings for a chairperson in a number of sub-committees. These include: the Honor Students section, Publicity, and online media, a dedicated photographer for certain meetings along with the day's events, and anyone who wanted to volunteer to work any number of the sub-committees. Another need for volunteers is the day of the events. Raising the flag to start the day, leading each group for the Baby and Youth Parade, coordaining the participants in each division, and carrying banners in front of some groups.
The major item of concern is in need of donations to cover the cost of this year’s parade, and to ensure the parade will continue in 2027, and beyond.
The members talked about a variety of fundraising ideas, which will be disgust at the next meeting.
There is also a need for donations of goods and services that will be needed before and during the day of July 5th. All Groups and Businesses who donate to the Committee will be listed in the program.
Donation Checks should be mailed to the Ridgefield Park Fourth of July Citizens Committee at 234 Main St. Ridgefield Park NJ 07660. Anyone interested can contact them at: rpnj4thcommittee@yahoo.com
The 2027 Ridgefield Park Fourth of July Celebration will take place on Monday July 5. This will be the 133rd year of making Ridgefield Park being "The Only Place to Be on the 4th of July".
Next meeting is Mon Jan 25, 2027, at 7:30p. in the Public Meeting Chamber on the third floor of 234 Main St. It is open to the Public.
