On Thursday-15 February the Bogota Lady Bucs Basketball hosted the Midland Park Lady Panthers on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym. This was Senior Night for Bogota. Bogota Head Coach Christina Minieri introduced their one Senior Ms. Makayla Douglas. She was greeted at Centre Court by her Family and received a bouquet of flowers from her teammates.
The game started with Bogota scoring the first seven points. The Lady Panther pulled to within one-point mid-way through the first quarter. The Lady Bucs kept their advantage to end the first eight minutes ahead by the score of 14 to 9. The second quarter had the teams stay close, but Bogota would hold their lead at 23 to 19 going int half time.
After the re-start the Lady Bucs would go an several scorings runs to open a double-digit margin of 10 points, then of 20 points when the final quarter began. Bogota finished the game with a 51-29 win.
Emma Fowler had game highs with 22 Points with 6 Three Point Baskets. Makayla Douglas finished with 20 Rebounds to bring her Varsity total to 858. Midland Park's Alexi William had a team high of 11 Points. With Abigail Kuhnel recording 3 Three Point Baskets for Midland Park. Bogota's record is now 8-14. They next play on Thursday-15 February at Hasbrouck Heights with a 4:00p tipoff.
Bogota will have the #16 seed in the 2024 New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Group I North I tournament. They will travel to #1 Park Ridge on Thursday-22-February with a 4:00p Tip-off.
On Wednesday-14-February the # 8 Bogota Bowling Bucs lost to # 9 Secaucus in the first round of the 2024 New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Group I North 2 Tournament. Bogota's Nico Lucarelli had a team high with 482 set and match high of a 190 game. They finish at 10-7.
