Board of Education

13-February-2020
On Tuesday-11-February the Bogota Board of Education held their first meeting for the month of February. The main subject of this meeting was to hear the results of the study of the all the public schools building. The report was presented by Frank Messineo from Solutions Architecture.  The survey looked at all three building and produced detail report of each structure. This would cover the every room, from the gym, offices, and classrooms to closets and mechanical rooms. All systems from lighting, environmental, and electrical systems were also included. Mr. Messineo told the board that in the report they received includes an overall dimensioned ground plan along with a visual record of each room.
Also in this report was Solutions Architecture suggestion of what, if any, type of work each room would need either now, or in the future. This section was broken up into different areas Each one of the school building had its own category.  Then each building had its own sub-section for more detail of the status of the room.  Next each  building had its own list of the work that could be done, the importance of the work, and a rough estimate of the cost. At this point Mr. Messineo stressed that any cost listed was only their estimate, not the final cost. He also said that all of the project suggested can not be done in one budget year.  The number code Solutions Architecture assigned to each project would indicate the importance of that project. Those listed with a #1 would be top priority.  The decision of which project to do and when is fully up to the Board of Education trustees. Mr. Messineo finished by saying many of the project in this report would be eligible for a number of grants which will help fund these project.
Next the Board considered the items on the consent agenda. These and all other agenda items will be formally approved at the next Board of Education meeting.
