On Friday-14-February the Bogota Lady Bucs basketball team hosted the METS Charter School Lady Mustangs from Jersey City, NJ. This was played on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym as the first part of a coed double header. Bogota opened the scoring and produced a 16 point first quater. Their defense was able to keep the Lady Mustangs from get a basket and had a 16-0 lead after eight minutes. The second quater was more even and the Lady Bucs would go into the locker room with a 23-5 advantage. After the restart the teams would quicken the pace of the game and trade baskets throughout the quater. The Lady Bucs added to their and were ahead by 23 points at three quater time. The game would end with Bogota winning the game 51-30.
The Lady Mustangs' Gianna Mercado had a game high of 20 Points including 1 Three Point Basket. Bogota would be led by Ruby Recio with 15 Points. Ms Recio and Maryann Gesmundo would both have game highs with 2 Three Point Baskets each.
Bogota is now 4-14. They next play on Tuesday-18-February at Hawthorne Christian Academy. The tipoff is scheduled for 4:00p
