   A weather alert announced by the National Weather Service a heat advisory  and air quality warning starting on Thursday-26 -August to Friday-27-August, for local area around Teterboro Airport.

HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT FRIDAY
-WHAT...Heat index values around 100.
-WHERE...Western Passaic, Eastern Passaic, Hudson, Western
Bergen, Western Essex, Eastern Bergen, Western Union, Eastern
Essex and Eastern Union Counties.
- WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday.
- IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses to occur.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Heat Advisory is issued when the combination of heat and
humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees
for two or more consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any
length of time.
Seniors and those with chronic health problems or mental health
conditions are at an increased risk. Homes without air
conditioning can be much hotter than outdoor temperatures.
Use air conditioning to stay cool at home or go to a place that
has air conditioning. Check on vulnerable friends, family members
and neighbors.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection
has issued an air quality action day for the following counties...
Eastern Bergen...Eastern Essex...Eastern Passaic...Eastern Union...
Hudson...Western Bergen...Western Essex...Western Passaic...Western
Union.
An Ozone Action Day has been declared for Thursday, August 26th,
2021! Ozone has the potential to reach the unhealthy for sensitive
groups category for most of northern New Jersey. Sensitive
individuals, including the very young, the elderly, and persons with
respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous
activities during the afternoon and early evening hours. Hot
temperatures, sunny skies, and light southwesterly winds will
continue.
