Bogota Board of Education

  On Tuesday-15-March the Bogota Board of Education held their second meeting for the Month. During his report Superintendent Mr. Damian Kennedy announced some information about school lunches. While the lunches are still free this year, for the first serving. If a Student would like a second serving, or just a entree, they will need to be paid for that.  He also said that the company in charge of the lunch program tries to reuse leftover meals when possible. It was also announced that the District turn a profit on school lunch this past year.   In reviewing the results from the Town-hall meeting , with the Bogota Police Department,  Superintendent Kennedy mentioned the need to have communication and following up with Students and Parents over issued that have been brought t the attention of the Administrators  on all levels. One part of this is to start arranging more assembles and in school speakers on a number of subject. An example of this will be to have the Bogota Police Dept. hold a series of presentation at all grade levels from Sixth Grade to Seniors Students.

   Then the Trustee moved to vote on agenda items. All items were passed by a unanimous  vote. Items of note were:

- accepting the retirement of Ms. Lisa Tarino Teacher at the Steen School effective June 30, 2022.

- accepting the resignation of Mr. Brad DiRupo, as Head Softball Coach.

-accepting the resignation of  Mr. Ken Varon, as Asst. Boys Track Coach.

-approving the appointment of the following coaches for the 2021/2022 school year.

Patrick Clark - Head Softball

Joseph Mitchell Asst. Baseball 
Brian Appleton Asst. Boys Track 

Leah Pimentel - Asst. Softball
Madison Heck - Volunteer Middle School Softball
Samantha Smith - Girls Asst. Track 
Anna Maria Scarpis - Volunteer Track
Kyle Craw - Assistant Baseball 
Brian O'Boyle - Spring Weight Room Supervisor 

  The next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday-12-April and is scheduled to start at 7:00p. It will be a hybrid meeting with in-person attendance and available online. The in person meeting will be held in the High Cafeteria located at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ All in person attendee will be required to wear mask at all time while in the building. The meeting is open to the Public.
