This Weeks Events

27-November-2016

Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota  for the week starting on Sunday-27- November.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information. 

Continuing
28-Nov. to 12 -Dec
  The Second Grade from Steen School will be sponsoring a food drive to support the St. Joseph's Food Bank.  This will take place  from  Monday-28-November to Monday-12- December.  They will be accepting  nonperishable food items such as:  Canned goods, Cereals, Pasta, Boxes  of Potatoes, Rice & Stuffing. They will also be accepting  Baby foods, Diapers and wipes.
 Donations can be dropped off to the Main Office at Steen School during  regular school hours from 8:00a to 3:00p. Monday through Friday. The Main entrance is located at 134 W. Main St Bogota, NJ

October to December
    Monday -3- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting  in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -19- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

   The Night travelers teen Club will have their meeting starting at 5:00. Bogota
    The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

Tuesday-29-Nov.
Bogota

  The Bogota Public Library will offer an AARP  Defensive Driving Course. This is designed for drivers over the age of 50 and will explain update driving rules and teach defensive driving techniques.   The next Wimpy Kid graphic novel club will meet at 3:30p in the second floor Senior Centre.  The Bogota Borough Council will be holding their regular Council meeting  and work session starting at 7:30p. It will take place in the Council Chambers of Borough Hall. Borough Hall is located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.  This meeting is open to the public.

Friday-2-Dec.
Bogota 
    The Bogota Public Library will host a Mini-Makers lab for Students age 4-6. This will be held on the library first floor in the Teen quiet study area.      The Bogota High School Drama Dept. will present "Myths Busted" Tickets are $7.00 for Adults and $5.00 for Students and Seniors. Tickets will be available at the door. Doors open at 6:30p with the Curtain at 7:00p. This will be held in the High School Auditorium located on the first floor of Bogota High School  at 2 Henry Luthin pl. Bogota, NJ

Friday-2-Dec
Bogota 
   Bogota Beautiful and the Bogota Girl Scouts will be holding a pre-lighting decorating event for the tree in front of Borough Hall.  The Girl Scouts and any volunteer who wishes to assist will be adding ornaments and other decorations before the Friday 9-December lighting. Bogota 
   The Bogota Volunteer will hold it's annual Chief's Election starting at 7:00p. This will be held in the Seniors Center located on the second floor  at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ. This is when a new Fire Chief will be appointed for the year 2016, and awards to members of the Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept for their outstanding performance in 2015. This is open to the Public.
