Weekend Events

10-November-2016


Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota  for the weekend starting on Thursday -10- November.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added throughout the month.
  
Continuing    

  The Bogota Public Library has set out a box to collect old, and used Crayola coloured makers. Makers collected will be send to the Crayola company to be reprocessed. For more information please visit their web site at;  http://www.crayola.com/colorcycle

October to December
    Monday -3- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting  in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -19- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

 The Schools of the Bogota Public School System are closed due to the NJEAA teachers Conference.

 The Bogota Public Library will host a  Graphic Novel Chat.   This meeting was originaly schedule for 3-November but was changed to this date
 The Bogota Borough Council will be holding their regular Council meeting  and work session starting at 7:30p. It will take place in the Council Chambers of Borough Hall. Borough Hall is located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.  This meeting is open to the public.

Bogota 
   The Bogota VFW Ralph Hall Post # 5561 will host its  54nd annual Veterans Day ceremony.  This is a chance for the citizens of Bogota to show their thanks and appreciation for what the members of the Armed Services both past & present mean to the Country. Doors open at 6:30 pm, ceremony starts at 8pm. It includes announcement of Bogota's citizen of the year and its young volunteer award. Please come by for the ceremony and refreshments. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. The Ralph Hall post is located at 240 Leonia Ave. Bogota, NJ

  The next book in the" Food for Thought" to be discussed will be "The Pink Suit" by Nicole Mary Kelby starting at 7:00p in on the second floor. Copies are now available at the Library.

Bogota
    The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

Bogota Sports

Thursday-10-Nov
Volleyball-               # 1 Bogota will host #5 Glen Rock  the 2016 NJSIAA Group 1                                                              Tournament Semi-Final Match  match. This will be played on                                                         Wednesday  and will take place in Bogota at Speary Gym. It has a                                                       schedule start   time of 7:00p.

Saturday-12-Nov
Cross Country-   State Group meet at Holmdel Park Holmdel, NJ
