Councilwoman Lisa Kohles

  At the  Borough Council meeting on Thursday voted to appoint Lisa Kohles to fill the vacant Council seat left vacant by Tito Jackson when he had been named Mayor of Bogota. Ms. Kohles is a lifelong resident of Bogota, and a graduate of Bogota High School. She is married to Gordon Kohles also a life long resident of the Borough. Mother of three with her youngest son still attending the High School. Ms. Kohles has served on the Recreation Commission , and is the current President of the Parent's for Bogota Football. She is employed at the Hackensack University Medical Center.
  She is a member of the Democrat party, and had given thoughts of seeking a candidacy for office next year. When approached with an offer to be considered to fill the vacant seat she felt it would give her a chance learn about the duties and responsibility of  being a member of Borough Council.  She will take this year to see if she will wants to run for  office for a full term. Ms  Kohles stated that for now she wants to work on doing what is best  for the Citizens of Bogota.
  She was approved by a 4-0 vote, with Councilman Burdiez absent. She was one of three other candidates for the position.  The other two were Current Councilman Arthur Konigsberg. and Bogota Community Alliance member Anthony Stevens.
