Lady Bucs Volleyball

 On Monday-7-November the #1 Seed Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team hosted the #3 Cresskill Lady Cougars in finals for the 2022 New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association Women's Volleyball North Jersey, Section 1, Group 1 Tournament. This was played in a sold -out at Speary Gym. Bogota serviced first and Mia Pimentel served 4 straight point to put the Lady Bucs ahead.  The home team would double Cresskill points a couple of time in the early stage of the first set. The Lady Cougars did reduce the margin to 5 points. Then, with Gianna Estevez serving, Bogota recorded nine consecutive points and be one point short of a first set win. Cresskill would in the service, but the Lady Bucs then scored the set winning point and take a 1-0 Match lead 25-11.

 Cresskill opened the second set, but Bogota would score first. After a couple of ties, the Lady Cougars took their first lead of the match 3-2. Bogota then regained the advantage and retake the lead. Cresskill closed the score and trail by only a single point. Bogota went on a 6 to 1 scoring run and held a 11 to 5 lead. Bogota continue to increase their lead by two or three points at a time.  Soon the score will be 24-14 for the home team. Bogota's would then serve for and get the set winning point 25-14 and the Match 2-0.

  Bogota's Ashana Caviness had a match high with 16 Kills, Angelina Buhler added another 14 Kills. The Lady Cougars' Erin Fahy had 10 Kills and 2 Blocks. Gianna Estevez also had match highs with 12 Digs and 10 Service Points. Angelina Doto with 9 digs and Amber Dangelico with 10 Assists for Cresskill.  Bogota's Mia Pimentel recorded 28 Assists to lead all players. Carolina Villada scored the most Blocks in the match with 4. While Tiko Tvauri also had 2 Blocks. Angelina Buhler served 2 Aces for Bogota with Erin Fahy and Amber Dangelico both having one each for their team.  

  Bogota's record is now 26-2. Their next match is on Thursday-10-November. This will be the Semi-final of the New Jersey State Group 1 Championships against Verona. This will take place on Tuesday-8-November in Bogota's Speary Gym, with the first serve scheduled for 4:30p*
