2023 Elections

 21-November-2023

On Friday-17-November the Bergen County Board of Election open the Provisional Ballots, from the 7-November Election. The results have been added to the candidate’s total. The following results are unofficial until all results have been certified by the Bergen County Board of Elections.

Results for Bogota:

With 1,697 votes cast out of a possible 5,926 (28.64%)

 
Mayor one four-year term.
- Republican party: Ms. Daniele Fede                 828 votes
- Democratic party: Ms. Mary Ellen Murphy     821 votes
-there were 7 write-in votes
Ms. Fede will be become the first Female Mayor for the Borough of Bogota           

 Borough Council two three year terms.
- Democratic party:  Ms. Diana Vergara       849 votes
- Democratic party:  Ms. Lisa Kohles             824 votes
- Republican party:  Mr. Michael Connors    813 votes
- Republican party:  Mr. Marco Navarro       750 votes
- there were 13 write in votes

 Board of Education Three, Three-year terms
- Ms. Adriana Alcalde           686 votes
- Mr. Jose Chavez                  637 votes
- Ms. Bisi Ruckett                  618 votes
- Mr. Brandon Escobar        449 votes
- Mr. Jonathan Escalante    397 votes
- Mr. David Sinor                  349 votes
-there were 23 write-in votes
Ms. Ruckett and Mr. Chavez are re-elected to their seats on the Board of Trustees.
 
 
Bergen County Commissioners two, three-year terms
- Democratic party: Ms. Joan Voss                              106,356 votes
- Democratic party: Mr. Rafael Marte                         102,981 votes           
- Republican party: Ms. Mary Jo-Ann Guinchard     85,506 votes
- Republican party: Ms. Agninshalah Collins             83,252 votes
-there were 343 write-in votes.
Ms. Voss is re-elected for her seat on the Bergen County Board of Commissioners

 

New Jersey State Legislation  
State Senate in the 37 NJ Legislative District
One four-year term
- Democratic party: Mr. Gordon Johnson    27,466 votes  
- Republican party: Ms. Dierdre Paul            10,610 votes
-there were 86 write-in votes
Mr. Johnson is re-elected for his seat in New Jersey Senate

  

General Assembly in the 37 NJ Legislative District
Two two-year terms
- Democratic party: Ms. Ellen Park                  26,942 votes
- Democratic party: Ms. Shama Haider           25,943 votes
- Republican party: Mr. Robert Bedoya           10,673 votes
- Republican party: Ms. Katherine Lebovics   10,526 votes
-there were 82 write-in votes
Ms. Park and Ms. Haider were re-elected for their seats in New Jersey General Assembly

Ridgefield Park Board of Education Three, Three-year terms

With 1,797 votes cast out of a possible 8,507 (21.12%)
 
-Ms. Berlinda Rodriguez    989 votes   
-Ms. Jennifer Schmitt         915 votes
-Mr. John Malool                 828 votes
-Mr. Ronald Hidalgo           482 votes
-Ms. Susan DeSantis            427 votes  
-Mr. Edmond DeSantis       409 votes
-Mr. Karl Marttz                   214 votes              
-there were 11 write-in votes
Ms. Rodriguez was re-elected for her seats on the Board of Trustees.

 Teaneck Board of Education Three, Three-year terms

With 11,053 votes cast out of a possible 31,418 (35.18%) 

-Mr. Gerald Kirshenbaum            5,655 votes
-Mr. David Gruber                         5,579 votes
-Mr. James Wolff                           5,554 votes
-Ms. Seleene Raquel Wong          4,519 votes
-Ms. Nadia Hosein                         4,428 votes
-Mr. Jose Zenon                             4,291 votes
 -there were 28 write-in votes

 

Hackensack Board of Education Three, Three-year terms

With 5,320 votes cast out of a possible 27,182 (19.57%)

  

-Mr. Mark Stein                   2,036 votes
-Mr. Kenneth Martin          1,988 votes
-Ms. Shivonnie Pringle       1,821 votes
-Ms. Susan Avallone           1,075 votes
-Ms. Yvette Irving               1,064 votes
-Ms. Nancy Brown               1,045 votes
-Ms. Sophia Brown                877 votes
-Ms. Dana Martinez               853 votes
-Mr. Andrew Meehan            454 votes
-there were 18 write-in votes

 Hackensack had 1 Municipal Question

Whether to approve continuation of the open space fund
This was approved by a vote of 2,712 in favor.
And 627 opposed.
