On Saturday-11-November the Overpeck Creek Animal Hospital in Bogota held a Grand Opening event. Located at 101 E. Main St. in Bogota it is the newest business to open in t-he Borough. In the parking lot, off of Highview Pl, was set-up for vendors to display pet care products. There was also a creator of balloon animals and refreshment for the visitors. This provided a large area for pets, and their humans, to meet each other and talk.
Soon Medical Director Dr. Ohad Barnea address those gathered. He talked about when looking for a location to expand, the old accounting building at E. Main St. and Palisade Ave was appealing. Placed on roads that have direct access to Hackensack, Ridgefield Park, and Teaneck was a point of interest. Once meeting with the former owner of the lot an agreement was started. Dr. Barnea then mentioned how the officials in Bogota greeted his idea with great enthusiasm. All Departments from Building and Planning, Board of Health and the Police and Fire Department worked quickly to start the process of creating the new Veterinary facility.
Then Dr. Barnea introduced Bogota Mayor Mr. Christopher Kelemen. Mayor Kelemen then read a proclamation welcoming Overpeck Creek Animal Hospital to Bogota. He called the hospital a valuable addition to the community. Then there was a ribbon cutting to officially open the building for business.
After the ceremony Dr. Barnea, and members of his staff gave tours of the facility. The Hospital has two working areas. The first floor is made up of an X-Ray room. A full Laboratory and work area. This will let the Veterinarians to perform testing in-house for fast results. There are six to seven examination rooms. Two a design to use for Felines both kittens and Adult exclusively. Four K-9's puppies and fully grown. There is also one room dedicated to humane and peaceful end of life treatment.
The upper floor has a Dental examination and treatment room. A standalone general treatment area and surgical theatre when needed. Both floors have kennels which can be used for recovery.
Dr. Barnea philosophy of Veterinary treatment is displayed in their Comprehensive Physical Exam. It starts with Dental Health with weight recommendations. Then nutritional needs and annual blood & urine screenings. It moves to any behavioral issues followed by parasitic treatment and vaccines when needed.

The Overpeck Creek Animal Hospital will be overseeing the Bogota Board of Health free rabies clinic. This will be held on Saturday-18-November starting at 1:00p in the W. Broad St. Firehouse, the shots were administered free of charge for residents of the Borough who had paid for a license. Pet owners either paid this day or could have paid in advance with proof of purchase at the time of vaccination.
