Rabies Clinic

 20-November-2023

On Saturday-18-Novenber the Bogota Board of Health sponsored a free rabies clinic.  Originally scheduled for the W. Broad St. Firehouse, it was moved to the Central Ave. Firehouse due to an emergency situation. This was a chance to have their Cats, or Dogs get their yearly shots for rabies.  Pet owners could renew their licenses at the same time.  A steady flow of pets, mostly dogs, came by to take advantage of the clinic, and the sunny day.
The vaccinations were administered under the supervision of Veterinarian Dr. Seth Edgar. He was assisted by Lead Technician Asai MasChang of the Overpeck Creek Animal Hospital in Bogota. Dr. Edgar had his table placed towards the back the Fire House.  This allowed the pet owners to renew their license, then have the vaccine administered quickly. The shots were administered free of charge for residents of the Borough who had paid for a license. Pet owners either paid this day or could have paid in advance with proof of purchase at the time of vaccination. Some of the animals were also given a treat to calm them down before the treatment Dr. Edgar also gave some simple advice to some of the pet owners who asked question of the best way to treat minor issues with their pets.
