Library Crafts

   On Saturday-10-February the Bogota Public Library had a full slate of crafts to learn and do. There were a couple of these group that have regular monthly gatherings. One is the  Knitting Club that was has been together for many years. This open to anyone ages 8 and over who wishes to learn more about the art of Knitting. Established Knitters will be on hand to teach the skills and techniques in order to create items from yarn. Some of the items that can be hand made can be simple gloves and scarfs to sweaters, or art works. This is also give friends the opportunity to sit and relax while enjoying the company of other knitters. Story's and tips can be share with others, and watch the process of turning yarn into decorative creations.  For first time participates yarn and other materials will be supplied.
  Another monthly event today was the Lego League were Students can let there imagination to take over and create whatever they feel like using Lego blocks. The Library has a full supply of shapes and blocks to choose from. Participants may also show off some their creations they made at home.
  The special event on this day was to create a Heart Tree as a Valentine gifts for Family members. The the assistance of Volunteers, from the Bogota Girls Scouts, Students made a tree trunk by using  tracing of the own arm. The tree would then be furnished with colourful ribbon hearts all glued together for a unique work of art to give. 
  Most of these events are free and open to the general public. Normally anyone attending is asked to register with the library in advance.
