Bogota Basketball

  On Tuesday-13-February the  Varsity Teams from Bogota played those from Palisades Park. The Men's team traveled to Palisades Park to play the Tigers. The Bucs took an early lead  and held a 13-5 advantage after the first eight minutes. The Tigers  cut deep into the Bogota lead, but the visitors where able to go into half time leading  23- 21. After the restart Bogota was again able to widen there marge to 10 Points at three quarter time.  Foe the second game in a row Bogota got into late foul trouble with two starters needing to leave the game. Palisades Park took advantage of their free throw opportunities to close in on the Bogota lead. Bogota was able to hold on for a 52-48 win. 
  Tim Uzor had a game high with 20 Points. Deiker Padrino had a game high with 3 Three Point Baskets while Mr. Uzor and Colin McDonnell each scored a pair of three point shots.
  Bogota's record is now 16-3. They next play on Thursday-15-February when they travel to Cresskill. The tip off is scheduled for 7:00p 





  

   The Bogota Lady Bucs hosted the Lady Tigers in their Senior night game. Before the game the Seniors of both teams where recognized.  Palisades Park's  Lani Watt received flowers from Bogota Captain Melissa Cristaldo.  Then the Bogota Senior were called up by head Coach Andrew Ballester and received a bouquet of flowers and posed with their Family.  Lesly Peratta,  Gwyneth Trujillo , Melissa Cristaldo, and Amanda Schlosser all came forward and where appalled by the crowd.
  Once the game began Palisades Park would take a one point lead after the first quarter. Bogota would come back and earn a tie of 21 by Halftime. The Lady Bucs would take a lead  after the restart, but would see the Lady Tigers pull ahead toward the end of the third quater. Palisades Park would continue to lead in the final quarter, but Bogota would stay close enough as time moved forwards. With under two minutes  Gwyneth Trujillo would score the only three point basket for Bogota and put the Lady Bucs ahead one more time.  Bogota would then hold the Lady Tigers scoreless for the final few minutes and earn a 50-44 win.  Leyla Merhi would lead Bogota in scoring with 20. 
  Bogota's record is now 3-13. They next play on Thursday-15-February against to Cresskill on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym. The tip off is scheduled for 4:00p
