Bogota Basketball

   On Friday-16-February The Varsity Basketball teams from Bogota  played those from Waldwick. The Lady Bucs traveled to Waldwick and suffered a 30-41 point loss to the Lady Warriors.  Leyla Merhi had a team high of 10 Points. Leila Ksiyer and Amanda Schlosser led Bogota with 2 Three Point Baskets each.
  Their record is now 3-15. They next play on Thursday-22-February at Belleville with a tip off time scheduled for 4:00p.






   The Men's Basketball Bucs hosted the Warriors on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym. This was Senior Night and before the game the Seniors  players from both team were recognized. The four Varsity Student from Waldwick  were first were honoured. Then the seven seniors of the Bogota Cheerleaders were presented with flowers. This was followed by the Six Bogota Varsity Seniors players. All the Student were greeted by Families & Friends and posed for photos. The game started with both teams scoring from beyond the arc. Bogota's Deiker Padrino saw limited playing time due to a lower body injury. He still score 9 Points all on Three Point Baskets.  The Bucs were able to have a lead after eight minutes 18-12. Bogota took full control of the game in the second and ended the half with a flurry three point baskets falling just short of a half -century taking a 49-25 advantage.         After the restart  Bogota shooter continued their scoring pace on the way to an 84-43 win. Tim Uzor lead all players with 40 Points including a game high 6 Three Point baskets. Deiker Padrino and Argenis Soriano both had 3  three pointers with Dave Marose adding a single one. Bogota's record is 17-4. They next play on Tuesday-20- February at Hasbrouck Heights with a tip off scheduled for 7:00p.
   #2 Bogota will play #15 Wood-Ridge  in the 2018  NJSIAA North 1, Group 1 Tournament, on Monday -26-February. This will take place place on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym. The tip-off time is scheduled for 7:00p.
