Bogota Basketball

  On Thursday-14 February the Varsity teams from Bogota played those from Cresskill.
The Lady Bucs travel to  play the Lady Cougars.  The Bogota would lose the game by a score of 20-59.
 Courtney Madison would lead all scores with 20 Points for Cresskill. Colleen McQuillen had 2 Three Point Baskets for the home team. Maryanne Gesmundo  would lead Bogota with 10 Points. Their record is now 1-20. They next play on Friday-15-February vs  Hawthorne Christian Academy on the  Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym   Tip-off time is scheduled for 4:00p. This is the make-up game originally scheduled for Tuesday-12-February. This will also be the Senior Game.

  The Men's Basketball Bucs hosted the Cresskill Cougars on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym. Before the game Senior players from both team were recognized.  For Cresskill Sam Gellman,  Max Gentile, Lazaro AlvarezSam Kwasnaza, Brian McGee would step to Centre Court and be honoured. Then for Bogota Scorekeeper Monica Cruz along with Danny Sanchez, Xavier Byrd, Melvin Bayhon, Kenjiee Polanco, Ben Lukabu, and Argenis Soriano came forward to be recognized. The Game would be a low scoring affair with both defensed not willing to give up easy chances. Bogota would twice double the Cougars in scoring during the first half. The Bucs would have a 13-6 lead after the end of the First Quarter. In the second quater Cresskill pick-up their shooting and forge a one point lead. By the time the first half ended Bogota would take a 20-19 lead into the locker room.  
  After the restart the two teams would trade the lead a number of times. As the final eight minutes would start the Bucs held a 35-30 advantage they would not give-up. Again both teams limit the others chances, as both team got into foul trouble. Most of the last part of the game was spent at the free throw line. Bogota would win by a final score of 54-50.
  Cresskill's Kristian Radovich would lead his team with 12 Points. Brain McQuillen would have a game high with 2 Three Point Baskets. Bogota by Kenjiee Polanco, Ben Lukabu scoring game highs with 14 points each.  Argenis Soriano, Xavier Byrd, and Taj Collins would each have a  Three Point Baskets  for Bogota.
     Bogota's record is now  15-6. Friday-15-February at  Hawthorne Christian Academy  Tip-off time is scheduled for 7:00p. This is the make-up game originally scheduled for Tuesday-12-February.  Bogota has been given the #1 seed the NJSIAA North 1, Group 1 Tournament. The will play #16 Waldwick, in the first round on Tuesday-26 February. This will take place on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym Tip-off time is scheduled for 7:00p.
