Bogota Varsity Basketball

On Tuesday-19-February the varsity basketball teams from Bogota played those from the Colonial Division. 
     The Men's team traveled to Garfield to play the Boilermakers. Garfield would take an early lead 10-7 after the first eight minutes.  The second quater was even with  the Boilermakers taking a 24-21 advantage into the locker room. After the restart  Garfield opened a bigger lead and went into the fourth quater leading by 6 Points. Bogota would  out score the Boilermakers enough to send the game into overtime.  Both teams scored a dozen points and end the first extra session tied at 66 a piece. In the over periods to follow Players from both side would reach the maximum fouls and the depth of the benches were put on display. Bogota would go as far as allowing Argenis Soriano back in action , after suffering a hamstring pull in the first half.  As the fourth  overtime period started defense became more important. The Bucs would be able to hold Garfield to single digits and post 11 Points themselves, taking a 89-84 4 Overtime win back home.
 Bogota's Kenjiee Polanco would have a game high with 30 Points. Nakie Graham would lead the Boilermakers  with 18 Points.  Taj Collins  would lead scores with 6 Three Point baskets  for the Bucs. Bogota's record is now 17-6. The next play on Thursday-21-February against Glen Rock. This will be a home game on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym. The Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00p.

   The Lady Bucs hosted  The Lady Rams from Lodi. The visitors would have a 11-0 lead after the first quater. In the next three quarters Bogota would be event , or outscore Lodi.  The Lady Rams hold have 15-10 lead at halftime. Bogota would forge a 17-17 tie, with Lodi regaining their five Point lead at Three Quarter Time.  The Lady Bucs would give up just a single basket in the fourth quater, and score  seven points to have a 26-26 tie at Full Time.  In the extra session Lodi would score the only basket from the field, along with two free throws, they out score Bogota's three free throws and have a 30-29  overtime win. 
   Bogota's Maryanne Gesmundo and   Ruby Recio would be the high scores with 10 Points each. Ms Recio connected on 2 three Point Basket to lead all scorers. Lodi's Destiney Ndio and  Olivia Russo would their  team with 9 Points apiece.  The Lady Bucs finish their season with a record of 1-23
