HACK Race 2023

  On Saturday-30-September the Wanda Canoe Club, partnering with the Village of Ridgefield Park and the Hackensack Riverkeeper, will host the seventh annual HACK Race starting at their boathouse in Riverfront Park located at 24 Industrial Ave, Ridgefield Park, NJ. This is 9-mile Elite race with a 5KM Novice race and is one of the largest paddling events in the northeast with approximately 90 paddlers attending yearly. The race is scheduled to start in Ridgefield Park at approximately 12:00n with turnarounds by the USS Ling and the Historic New Bridge. 
Canoes will race from the dock at Riverfront Park to the Historic New Bridge by the Steuben House and back to the start. To view the race, it is suggested to use the following locations. The Fairleigh Dickinson University Foot Bridge, using the North parking lot on the Teaneck Campus. Or at the Steuben House, parking is available at the Historic New Bridge Landing lots.
Registration is limited to 80 boats, or 100 paddlers total for the Elite Race and Novice Race. Last day of online registration is Wednesday, September-27 at 8:00p. The Elite Race will cost $35, and Novice Race will cost $25. There will be an on-line safety meeting at 7:30p. All race finishers will receive 2023 HACK socks. Race-day registration will be based on the number of opening available that day. The race will take place rain-or-shine, except if thunderstorms are in the area.
Race registration is non-refundable with profits going to the Hackensack Riverkeeper Inc.'s If the race is cancelled, a $10 code will be issued towards next year's race. For more information, and to register please go to:
