On Friday September 8 the Ridgefield Park Arts Association and the Friends of the Ridgefield Park Library will co-sponsor the 2023 Word on the Street. This is part of International Literacy Day. The event will be staged at the Grove St Public Space starting at 7:00p. It will be an Open Mic Night and will welcome everyone who wishes to share their story. This year theme is "Turning Points". Participants will each have five minutes to share the times in which their lives have changed. Storytellers, Writers, Comedians and Poets are welcome to talk about situations from their past. Topic can vary from seemingly minor choices like hair color or making a left turn instead of going straight. To majors decisions such as changing jobs, or a romance.
Anyone who just wants to experience of listening insights to the Human condition are also welcome to attend. Music will be provided by Mr. Joe Kenney throughout the evening.
