Week of the Arts

 On Monday-3-June, the E. Roy Bixby School, and the Lillian M. Steen School in Bogota opened their Week of the Arts for 2024. This year’s theme is “Follow your HeART.”  In the Steen School Ceremony Principal Ms. Kelly DeCongelio welcomed the Students seated in the David Moore Gym. She said she is happy to open the 34^th year of “Week of the Arts” in the Bogota School District. She added about being ready to enjoy her first week as their Principal.
 Principal DeCongelio then introduced Ms. Cornelia Geraghty who has served as the “Week of the Arts” coordinator, following in her Mother’s footsteps. Ms. Geraghty would introduce a video of Bogota Mayor Ms. Daniele Fede who read a Proclamation  from the Bogota Borough Council to make Monday-3-June to Friday-7-June “Week of the Arts” in the Borough 0f Bogota. Mayor Fede continued by thanking all the Teachers, Staff, Administrators, and the Students for making “Week of the Arts a long-time part of the Education process in Bogota Schools. Mayor Fede mentioned that when she meets with other elected officials they would like to know more about this program.
  Ms. Geraghty then introduced a performance from the fifth-grade classes of Ms. Pat Candelaria and Ms. Kelly Jones. The Students took to the stage to show how many forms of art can be made a part of all other aspects of a typical school day.
