Hazardous weather is not expected at this time. -Thursday through Tuesday. A storm system is expected to impact the area Thursday into Thursday night, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall and gusty winds. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches can be expected, with localized higher amounts possible. Flooding will be primarily limited to minor urban and poor drainage flooding. There is a low probability of seeing more significant flooding. Easterly winds are expected to gusts 30 to 40 mph on Thursday, with some higher gusts possible on Friday as winds go around to the west. Minor coastal flooding is also a possibility during the times of high tide Thursday afternoon and evening, mainly across the more vulnerable locations of the south shore back bays across western Long Island and western Long Island Sound. At this time, the probability is low for widespread hazardous weather that would meet NWS warning criteria.
