On Monday & Tuesday 4&5-November a rally is planned at the former Dewey School location, at 297 Palisade Ave. This is to question the decision of allowing the developer from using a PILOT payment system in lieu of paying taxes for the first 30 years of the project. The owner during that time has to give up all rights to appeal their payment amounts. However, other than the 60% of the taxes on the land purchase, there is no money that is goes directly to the Board of Education. The Rally is scheduled to go from 4:00p to 7:00p on both days.
