Weekend Events

   Some events happening in and around Bogota for the weekend starting on Friday 30-October.

Saturday-31 -October
Bogota

      Today will be Halloween.  When it falls on a Weekend, Trick-or Treater start earlier in the day. Younger children will be looking for treats while it is still daylight. The the older  Student come around later in the evening. It is asked that all motorist be extra cautious  while traveling around the Bogota.  Some costumes may  not be easily seen at night, and mask reduce the wearer's visibility. 




Saturday-31 -October
Bogota

      The Bogota Public library   will continue the  fitness club  Saturday session . The schedule starting time is still 10:30a to 11:30a. This will incorporate a number of different techniques  from the "Team Beachbody® Fit Clubs". This will be a free event to anyone 18 years or older. All fitness levels are welcomed. Anyone who attends must bring their own Yoga mat, towel, and water bottle. Comfortable exercise clothes are recommended. Sunday-1-November
Bogota
   There will be an  additional day to register for the Bogota Pageant 2016  this will be from 12:00 noon to 3:00p. Soon after that there will be an Orientation meeting  scheduled from 3:00p to 5:00p. Both will take place at the Bogota Recreation Center located at 162 W. Main St Bogota.
   There is a $20 entrance fee. The categories are:
For the Little Miss & Mr. Bogota: Students from the age of 5 to 10 years old.
For the Teen Miss & Mr. Bogota:  Students from the age of 11 to 14 years old.
For the title of Miss & Mr Bogota: Students from the age of 14 to 18 years old.
   The Bogota Pageant is also open to Student from surrounding communities who wish to enter. The Bogota Pageant will expand the workshops for the Candidates to be more interactive. This  will try and become more of a learning experience for the Candidates. Some of the topics that will be part of the workshops will be a chance to help the Candidates  prepare to become the leaders for their generation, and  future leaders for their Community. Other topics will included, Safety and Health issues ranging from Internet use, Bullying, and how to handle peer pressure. To personal grooming & appearance, dietary choices, and life planning goal.
   The specific times and dates of the workshops, along with the announcement of of other events and fundraisers will made at the Orientation  Meeting scheduled on  Sunday 1- November starting at 3:00p.

Monday -2-November
Bogota
  The  St. Joseph's Church will hold a their  "All Souls Day" mass starting at 7:30p. With this being held during their Centennial year this mass will be open to anyone who ever has  a loved they wish to   remember. Normally this mass is held for those Parishioners who has lost a loved one over the previous year.  There will also be an honouring of former Clergy and teachers who have served at St. Joseph's. Monday -2-November 
Bogota

    Read to Maggie the Beagle returns for her Fall reading program. She will be available to help your child foster their love of reading by letting them be Maggie's Reading Buddy. Come on down, pick out a book, and read to Maggie in the Children's Section. The time will be at 4:00p stating in September, and throughout the School Year. Please call the Library at  (201) 488 - 7185 to  find out exact times and to register.

Monday -2-November 
Bogota

       The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

Football - at Cresskill 7:00p

Saturday-31-October

Cross Country -The Men's Squads will compete in  the Bergen County Meet of                                                       Champions. The Lady Bucs will send Jillian O'Brien to the Meet of                                                 Champions. This will be held on Saturday 31- October. This will be run at                                   the Darlington Park race course. 
Junior Bucs Football-  vs Weehawken starting at 11:00a at Fiegel Field
