Weekend Recap

19- October-2015

   A recap of the Saturday 17-October games played by teams from Bogota.

   The Bogota Bucs Men's Soccer team had a 2-0 victory at Weehawken. Bogota got two first half goals from Nicholas Calabia  and Colin McDonnell, while Kazuki Garay earned his first clean-sheet of the season.  This moves Bogota record to 6-7. They next play Palisades Park on Monday-19-October. The kick off is scheduled for 4:00p.

   The Bogota Football Bucs shut-out by Wood-Ridge 0-32. After a  scoreless first Quarter the Blue Devils score early after play resumed and added another Touchdown near the end of the half. An underman Bogota team could not create any offense to attempt a comeback.  This moves their record to 1-5 for the season. They next travel to St. Mary's of Rutherford  to play on Saturday-24- October with the kick-off scheduled for 1:00p. Their final game of the season has been move to Thursday-5-November. This will be played at Fiegel Field with a schedule kick-off at 7:00p. This will also be Senior Night for the Players, Band, and Cheerleaders.

  The  #9 Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball played  #24 Garfield in the first round of the Bergen County Championship Tournament. This was played at Speary Gym with Bogota coming away with at 2-0 (25-11 : 25-7) win. The Lady Bucs again used multiply players to create offense. With needing to focus on different combinations  the Lady Boilermakers could not fully cover the entire court. And at times Speary Gym itself caused problems for the Garfield attack. When one of two Anna Granquist  Aces surprised the Lady Boilermakers. Bogota was able to control the rest of the match. Julia Goni and Amanda Manzo had team highs with 4 Aces. Ms. Goni also lead in Service Points with 10 to go with 10 Kills. Samantha Gioiosa had a team high of 14 Kills. While Ms. Manzo lead with 24 assists This moves Bogota into the second round of the Bergen County Championship. They will play #8 Mahwah on Saturday 24- October with a schedule start of 3:00p. This will be played in the South Gym of Old Tappan High School. Their next league match will be Tuesday 20-October against Emerson. This will be play in Speary Gym with a scheduled start time of 4:00p
