   Some events happening in and around Bogota for the week starting on Sunday 6-December

Continuing

   The Bogota Public Library has a number of stations dedicated to the collect items to be recycled. 
collection drop is for old, non-working holiday string lights. This is a project sponsored by the Bogota Green team and Bogota Beautiful. They will collecting this lights from now until Monday -21-December.  Process from collecting these lights will go to help fund the Bogtoa Beautiful spring planting.  Other string light drop-off points are Borough Hall, All three of the Bogota Public Schools and the Bogota Dept. of Public Works.    START II will hold its fourth  annual Holiday event and sale. This will take place at the Bogota Recreation Center located at 162 W. Main St. Bogota, NJ.  On Sunday 6-Dec. and will run from 11:00a to 4:00p. There will gifts for both pets and their Human friends. A chance to have photos  take of your pet, or children, with Santa.  This year there will raffles throughout the event,  pencil caricatures. Food will available from Rosie food truck. There will also be  with information on caring , or adopting for a pet. All proceeds from this event will go to find homes for the Cats & Dog would need one. Including Spaying (or Neutering)  as well as shots of the animals looking to be adopted.

     Bixby School will be hosting a Flapjack breakfast as a fundraiser for the sixth grade class of 2016. This will be held at the Applebee's restaurant in Hackensack on Sunday 6-December.        The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

 The Bogota Board of Education will have the final Strategic Planning meeting .  This meeting will take place in the Cafeteria of the Bogota  High School  The planing meeting will take place after the Regular Board meeting which will start at 6:00p . The Public is invited to attend this meeting. The Cafeteria  is located on the second floor of the High School  at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ.

 The Bogota Public Library will present  Reading to Maggie the Beagle 4:00p-5:00p .    The Bogota Police Emergency Services Youth Academy will premier its movie for Class 05. This will be held at the Cedar Lane Cinema in Teaneck, NJ. This will feature Highlights of  BPEYSA Class 05 from the Summer of 2015. Admission is free to All graduate Cadets of  The Bogota Police Emergency Services Youth Academy  their Family and friends.  Curtain time is schedule from 7:30p. Friday-11-Dec

  The Bogota Recreation Commision has announced the Friday-11-December will be the date of the annual tree lighting in front of Borough Hall. This is scheduled to start at 7:00p and be in front of Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ. Carolers will be present to sing songs, and a special guest to help light the tree. Afterwards there will cookies and hot chocolate served in the W. Broad St. Fire House. 
   It is asked that anyone attending  to bring non-perishable food items which will be donated to local food banks. Also donation of new , unwrapped toys will be accepted to be given to " Toys for Tots"  Items for donation may be delivered to the Recreation Center starting this  weekend up until Friday 11- December.

Sunday-13-Dec
Bogota 
  The Bogota Community Alliance has announced they will host a Breakfast with Santa on 
 Sunday 13-December. This will be hosted by  some of the candidates in the Bogota Pageant 2016. The young Women and Men will be onhand to help serve, and  be waiters for the diners.
    This will be held at the Bogota Recreation Center located  at 162 W. Main St. Bogota, NJ. Doors will open at 8:00a and will go until 12:00n. Tickets are $10.00 for Adults and $5.00 for Children.
   There is an opportunity to enjoy a breakfast with Friends and Neighbors and to have photos taken with Santa. For more information please contact the BCA at: wearethebca@gmail.com
