October to December
    Monday-5-October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting  in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -14- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

Bogota Chiropractor Dr. Michael Fitzgerald will accept items as part their annual Coat Drive. They will be accepting any coats in good ,wearable,  condition (men's coats in size 10 or larger are in high demand) Other items such as Shoes, Socks, Gloves, Hats, Scarfs, and Sleeping bag will also be accepted. The Coat drive will begin on Monday-30-November and continue until Saturday-5-December. These item can be dropped off at the same location during normal office hours.
 Item can be dropped off at Dr. Fitzgerald office located at 61 E.Main St. Bogota, NJ. These will be accepted during his normal office hours.
-Mondays: 8:30a to 12:00n and 3:30p to 6:30p
-Wednesday: 8:30a to 12:00n and 3:30p to 6:30p
-Thursday: 8:30a to 12:00n and 3:30p to 6:30p 
-Friday: 8:30a to 12:00n  
-Saturday: 8:00a to 10:00a

Bogota Friends and Families have started a Toy Drive with You Give Goods. They will be working with the Bogota Police Department  to supply them for their annual Holiday Toy Drive.  All gifts will be shipped directly to the Bogota Police Department so they can help Santa deliver them. Donors will be emailed a tax receipt at the time of purchase. This will run until Wednesday-9-December. Items can purchased on the You Give Goods website at:  https://yougivegoods.com/drive-14407.  They are hoping to reach at least 500 items to be donated this Holiday Season.

  Trinity Lutheran Church is also sponsoring their annual Christmas sharing programs for Families in Bogota.  They are fulfilling items, such as  clothing, games, and some household goods that have been added to their " Christmas Wish List". Ridgefield Park, NJ

The  Ridgefield Park/ Bogota Rotary Club opened their Christmas Tree sale for the 2020 Season.  They are once again located at 50 Main St. Ridgefield Park, NJ in Brewster Park.  They have a large selection  of trees as well as pre- decorated wreath. They will be open daily until 10:00p from now until Thursday-24-December. Process from the sale of these trees will go to fund the Ridgefield Park/ Bogota Rotary Club charities for the upcoming year.

Starting on Tuesday-1-December
Bergen County
Starting on Tuesday-1-December the Bergen County Community testing site for covid-19 will re-open at the Bergen Community College in the Lot B location. This is being sponsored by Bergen County in cooperation with the New Bridge Medical Center. Testing will continue of various days until Thursday-30-December. Anyone wishing to revive a test must pre-register.  This will be open starting at 9:00a to 2:30p, with check-in starting at 8:00p  This will be a nasal swab test with results available in 24 hours.   
  All people taking a test must have proper identification, Accepted forms of ID are a driver’s license or identification card, Social Security card, passport, or birth certificate. For those without legal status, a foreign passport is accepted. Residents also have to show proof they live or work in Bergen County. An insurance card is also required, again residents who do not have health insurance will still be able to get tested.
 In addition 
the Bergen County site at the New Bridge Medical Center are available to the General Public regardless of  showing, or not showing symptoms. The New Bridge testing site requires a pre-register.

   This year the Bogota Borough's  Tree Lighting will be  a virtual event.

  St.Joseph Catholic Church in Bogota will be holding a Wreath Sale. The sale will take place on Saturday and Sunday 5 & 6 -December. This will take place outside the Church located at Palisades Ave and E.Ft.Lee Rd in Bogota. Purchases may be made before and after Mass on both days. Saturday Mass will begin at 8:00a . Sunday Masses are schedule for 8:00a, 10:00a and 12:00 noon. Wreaths will be redecorated and will coast $20.00 a piece.

Black Box Performing Arts Center will be hosting a virtual open mic by Skeeball Jerry. 
He will be available  to answer all of your burning questions. From survival tips, to dating advice, to fun facts about the Skeeball Master himself - Jerry's got the answers!

The Bogart Memorial Church will again offer in-person services. They will have both Spanish and English services scheduled to start at 10:10a. Masks and safe distances are required.

Trinity Lutheran Church in Bogota has started to offer their Sunday services again. Sunday service will start at 9:30a. The Sunday School will begin at 10:30a. There will be Wednesday Bible  Studies at 7:00p. Masks and safe distances are required. Trinity Lutheran Church is now handicapped acceptable with a new lift system.

   St. Joseph Church in Bogota again will offer their Sunday Service in person. The number of participant will be limited. The Church will have a registration system allowing individuals to sign up and attend Mass.  The Village of  Ridgefield Park  will hold their annual Tree Lighting ceremony at 5:30p. This will be an limited outdoor event following all safety protocols.  It will be held in front of the Village Municipal Bldg, located at Main St and Park St.

River Edge, NJ
  The Bergen County Historical Society at New Bridge Landing will host  Holiday Scenes & Songs starting at 4:00p to  5:30 p
The songs will be led by historical balladeer Linda Russell who will included music through the ages to discover how the holidays were celebrated in Colonial Times.  This will be an outdoor event following all safety protocols. 
Ticket reservations are required: $20 non-member adults, $10 non-member children, and $15 adult / $7 child - BCHS members. Limited to 50 people, we've already sold 35 reservations.
Free parking available on site.Dogs are permitted on site on a leash.
