On Thursday-18- September the Bogota Borough Council held their Regular meeting.
After Citizens remarks two Ordinances were introduced. One was to amend the Traffic Code for street parking. This includes prohibited parking on the east side of Palisade Ave. for a distance of 50 feet from the southern corner of Chestnut Ave. Also:
-To prohibit parking on Chestnut Ave. westbound from Fischer Ave, to Palisade Ave.
-To prohibit parking on Maplewood Ave. eastbound from Palisade Ave to Fischer Ave.
This is for the streets around Bixby School.
The second Ordinance introduced was to amend the code for Sidewalk Easement Maintenance. This is for all properties within the Borough. The amendment for Easements shall be made up of the following:
Allowed
- Grass (natural only; no turf or artificial grass)
-Concrete, as a continuation of the sidewalk, however the concrete shall match the current concrete sidewalk.
-Paving blocks placed level with the sidewalk.
And prohibits:
-Rocks or stones of any kind.
- Blacktop or asphalt.
- Garden mulch of any kind.
- Flag stone or slate, unless same is a continuation a preexisting slate sidewalk.
Both Ordinances will be presented for Public Comment at the Council meeting on Thursday-16-October.
One Ordinance was adopted to regulate smaller Electric Vehicles powered by Lithium Batteries. This will regulate the sale of Lithium Batteries, the charging and storage of Electric Vehicles using these batteries. This was passed by unanimous vote.
Then the Council voted on the Consent Agenda. All resolutions were passed by unanimous vote. Items of note were to authorize an appraisal report for the property at 234 E. Ft. Lee Rd.
- To Re-appoint Mr. Mark Barone as electrical sub-code official.
During the Government reports it was announced.
-Larch Ave. repaving from W. Ft. Lee Rd. to Munn Ave will start on Monday-22-September. One lane at a time will be worked on and funding is provided by the NJ Department of Transportation.
- During the Bogota Marching Buccaneer Band’s Town Wide Garage sale on Saturday-11-October starting at 10:00a. there will be an Art Swap at Bogart Church.
- On Saturday-18-October the Bogota Fall Festival will take place in Olsen Park starting at 10:00a,
