Results from Bogota Varsity Sports on Friday-5-September. The Bogota Football Bucs traveled to Saddle Brook to play the Falcons.
The game would be scoreless until late in the first quarter. The Bucs’ Matt Heras opened the scoring with a 25-yard Touchdown run. Justin Roca would add the Extra Point. Bogota would have a 7-0 lead after the first 12 minutes.
In the second quarter Jayden Gonzalez would connect with Dylan Leonardo with a 21-yard Touchdown pass. The Falcons blocked the extra point attempt, causing Bogota to go into halftime with a 13-0 advantage.
After the restart Jayden Gonzalez would dash three Yards for the Major Score. Mr. Roca was successful on the Point After attempt. Then Mr. Gonzalez recorded his third Touchdown of the game with a 8-yard pass to Derek Cabana. This time Adrien Ventura completed the Extra Point.
In the final quarter Derek Cabana recovered a Fumble and returned it 81-yards for his second Touchdown of the half. Adrien Ventura again added the Extra Point and gave Bogota a 34-0 road win.
Jayden Gonzalez passed for 159 yards, Matt Heras had 68 rushing yards, with Dylan Leonardo ending with 56 Receiving Yards. Jayden Huerta had 1 Sack, Jaidin Gonzalez accounted for 16 total Tackles which included a career high of 10 solo Tackles. Jason Alvarado had 1 Interception.
Bogota’s record is now 2-0. They next play on Friday-12 September against Wallington. This will be the first Football game played at the renovated Feigel Field in the Bogota Sports Complex. The Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00p
Earlier in the day the Bogota Soccer Bucs opened varsity play at Feigel Field in the Bogota Sports Complex. They hosted the New Milford Knights. The Visitors scored once in the first half and added two more after the restart.
Bogota’s Victor Salguero scored the Bucs’ only Goal, with Michael Rivera having the Assist. New Milford would win the game by the score of 3-1. The Bucs’ Joshua Quevedo had 8 Saves. Mr. Quebedo needed to be replaced after a collision with a Knights forward. Xavier Chasi came in and made 6 Saves.
Bogota’s record is now 0-2. They next play on Tuesday-9-September when they travel to Becton. This is scheduled for a 4:00p Kick-off.
