Bogota Day 2013

The date is Saturday 29- June ( Sunday 30- June  is the rain date)  and will be in Olsen park Bogota, NJ.  The event will run from 12:00 noon until 10:00p
The day will begin with a ribbon cutting to officially open the new band shell that has been built near the walking track at the south-west end of the park. Mayor Pat McHale, and other Borough officials will preside
over the opening. The Bogota High School Band will be the inaugural performance at the band shell starting at 1:00 p.  Through-out the day there will be a number of different performance in and around the stage area.  Some are The Bogota Rec. Dept Twirlers, the Bergen County Sheriff's Dept  K-9 unit., and a Children's Limbo and Chicken Dance  contest.
  Other musical act to perform are Charlie's Band  from 5:00p to 6:00p. The the evening will be capped off by a performance by the Bad Parts band  starting at 7:30p and will go until 10:00p.
   Bogota's D.J. Eddie Acosta will provide the music between shows to help with the celebration atmosphere for the days event.
 Along with the music there will be many local groups and clubs providing a variety of food , and refreshments to buy.  Some of the different  choices will be form the sports team like Pizza from the Lady Bucs Softball team. Tacos form the three time State Champion Lady Bucs Volleyball team. And the BBO snack bar with Hot Dogs  & chips. As well as various community groups like  the Bogota Democratic Club selling cupcakes, or the Bogota Republican Club with their Meatball Heroes.  The Bogota Recreation Dept. will again have a Beer Garden set-up(  Legal customers only, and all purchases must remain in the Garden area.)
  The Boroughs municipal dept. will be on hand to to provide information, and meet members of the community They are the Volunteer: Fire, Ambulance, Auxiliary Police. The Bogota Public Library  and the Bogota Green Team. Other local groups like the Bogota Community Alliance, the Bogota Women's Club  have booths set-up to provide information.
 There will also be rides for the children, provided by New Jersey party Works. In addition some of the vendors will offer such things like face painting, and other crafts. There will also be a number of  booths that will have craft items available for purchase.
  Once again the citizens of Bogota will have an opportunity to spend a relaxing Summers evening to enjoy some family time  & entertainment.
