Bogota

The Bogota Board of Education will have their regularly scheduled meeting and work session. At this meeting there may be a number of items to be discussed from the previous meeting which was on 6-Jan. One item  that was tabled was the calendar for the Board Meeting. They are currently one a month, there is some thought of returning to a twice monthly scheduled.  Another item that could be discussed is the idea to have joint programs in three of the Varsity Sport at Bogota High School. This are Football, Women's Soccer, and Wrestling. There will be no impact on Bogota Football for the 2015 season due to the need  of NJISAA to make their Fall schedule as soon as possible. However, this topic will need to be heard in open meeting to be voted on. This meeting  will take place.in the Cafeteria of the Bogota  High School. The Public is invited to attend this meeting.
The  Bogota High School is located at 2 Henry C. Luthin Pl, Bogota, NJ

Sunday- 25-Jan
River Edge, NJ

The Bergen County Historical Society will present :
Brigit’s Day and Candlemas at HNBL starting at 1:00p to 5:00p
1:30 pm: Amongst the unique features of the American Revolution was the number of nationalities involved, both in terms of colonists and nation-states.  While the conflict proved a civil war of Americans versus Americans, the same can be said of the Irish.  Irish colonists in America served both Congress and the Crown, native Irish made up a substantial portion of the British Army, Irish regiments served in both the armies of France and Spain, and even led Hessian troops from Germany.  Found out more about this fascinating subject asTodd Braisted leads a presentation on the role of the Irish in the American Revolution.
3:00 pm: Harpist Ardis Cavin will perform on Celtic harp.
Some of the Society’s treasure of Revolutionary War artifacts are on display. All 3 Jersey-Dutch Houses will be open, connected by a gravel walking path through the historic battleground.
Event takes place in Historic New Bridge Landing, 1201 Main St, River Edge, NJ 07661. $7 adult, $5 children, BCHS members free. Parking available or take a train on the Pascack Valley Line from Secaucus via NJ Transit to the New Bridge Landing stop.
