St. Joseph's Food bank

21- November-2015

On Friday 20-November members of the Bogota High School 7th & 8th grade YAC took time off from starting their weekend to help bring food they had collected to the St. Joseph's Food Bank. Lynn Demetrakis delivered over 600 food items, in bags and boxes, to the Food Bank storage facility on 4th Pl. Ms. Demetrakis noted that over 300 of the items being delivered were from Mr. Kordosky Sciences classes.  She then organized the Students to move the bags, and boxes of supplies into the building to be sorted out. Director Christina Hasse talked about with such a large donation, along with donations by Vitale's of Teaneck, and private citizens, at the same time, the task to bagging the food for disruption is a large one.  She  welcomed this type of problem  at this time of year so that her and her staff will be able to assist more Families for the Holiday Season.
The St.Joseph's Food Bank will accept donations throughout the year. They are partnering with the Bogota Recreation Commission to accept donation of nonperishable now and up to the Holiday Tree Lighting on Friday 11-December. From more information on how to donate to the St. Joseph's Food Bank please call them at 201-342-6300
