This Weeks Events

 Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the week starting on Sunday-25-March. Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

Continuing

 Starting on Thursday-16 March the  Lt William Ryan Bridge will be closed for replacement.   Construction is schedule continue into April. A tentative opening date is Friday-13-April.

 Starting on Monday-26- February the main parking lot and front entrance to Bogota High School will be closed. This is due to the reconstruction of the Parking lot. Work is scheduled to continue until First week of September-2018.   All access to the High School will be through the side door on the North side of the building.

   The Bogota Police Dept has issued a traffic alert for Thursday-16-November. The Suez water company will be working on the main water line under the street.  Work is schedule  to continue until late January -2018. This will occur on W. Main St. between Larch and Elm Aves. This is scheduled to start at 7:00a and run to 4:00p. All parking on W.Main will be suspend during this time. Traffic in both directions may be detoured during this project, please plan alternate routes. Business parking will be permitted on both Larch and Elm Aves and may cause additional congestion on those streets.

Ridgefield Park, NJ
  The Ridgefield Park Elks Lodge # 1506 will be holding a All you can eat Breakfast. This will start at 8:30a and go until 12:00 noon Prices are $10 for Adults and $5 for student 12 and under. The Breakfast will feature an Omelette station, Pancakes, Bacon,Sausage, French toast, & scrambled eggs. There will also be pastries, cereal along with Coffee, Tea, Milk & Juice. It is asked to bring some Non-perishable food items for the Local Food Pantry.
The Elks lodge is located at the Corner of Spruce & Cedar Sts. Ridgefield Park, NJ

The Library will have its Teen Advisory Group.  This is  an event open to grades 6-12. Group members will  participate in various activities and interact with peers. Bring your ideas, creativity, and enthusiasm to the table. The Bogota, Leonia, & Montvale Police Dept will host a Social Night to support the Police Unity Riders. They will be joined by members of the Broward Sheriff's Dept. The events starts at 6:00p  and will go until 10:00p This will take place at the 101 Pub located at 101 Queen Anne Rd. Bogota, NJ. Tickets are $25 per person and will be available at the door. This is a fundraising event of the police Unity Tour later this year. The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

 The Bogota  Public Library will  host a healthy eating demonstration.  This was originally scheduled for 6-March, but due to weather conditions it was moved to this week. This will be presented by Ekika Lanaman who is a Nutritionist from the Shoprite grocery stores.    The Bogota  Public Library will  host Yoga classes lead by Conor Michael Murphy. This is open to anyone 18 years or older regardless of their level. It is asked anyone wishing to attend please bring their own yoga mat, or towel, and their own water bottle. Tuesday-27-March

  Bogota Beautiful will host the their of Zumba Nights in association with Bogart Church.  These will occur every Tuesday starting on13-March. This program is scheduled to continue until Tuesday-24-April  They will be one hour session starting at 7:00p and run by Gisela Medina. This will take place at Bogart Church's new Community space.  Each session will cost will be $10 per person, or $25 for a family of three or more.  Tickets will available at the door. Process from this event will go to help fund Bogota Beautiful project for 2017. Bogart Church is located at 263 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ

 The next Planing Board meeting will be on Tuesday 13-March at 7:30p This will be held in the Council Chamber located on the second floor of 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ. The public is invited to attend.

Wednesday & Thursday-28 & 29- March
Bogota
The Bogota  Public Library will have  story time reading  starting at 10:30a.  This is open available to any Student wishing to join in.  This will be held  under the tree in the Nikki Spiegel Story Time Corner.  The library is again working with AARP this year to provided assistance in tax preparation. This will be available on Thursday and Fridays from now until Saturday 15- April.  This is targeted to anyone over the age of 60 who could also be collecting Social Security .

  The Bogota Public Library will be closed for the Easter Holiday.They will re-open on Monday-2-April  
   The Bogota Public Schools will be closed for their Easter Vacation. They will re-open on Monday-9-April
The St. Joseph's School will be closed for their Easter Vacation. They will re-open on Monday-9-April
   Bogota Borough Hall  offices will be closed.

Saturday-31-March
Bogota
  The Bogota Recreation Commission will host its annual Easter Egg hunt in Olsen Park.   This was originally scheduled for 24-March, but due to ground conditions it was moved to this weekend. This will take place near the Olsen Environmental Walkway. The Egg hunt is open to all Bogota student from the ages of Pre-Kindergarten to Fourth grade.   It will be separated into three groups. The first group will be Pre-School Student and will start at 9:00a.  The second group will be for Kindergarten to Second Grade Students starting at 9:20a. With the final group for 3rd 7 4th Grade Student beginning at 9:40 a. All Students are asked to arrive 10 minutes before their group start. Only the first group will be allowed to be accompanied by their Parents.  Parents of the older group must stay behind the fencing. 
   There will be prizes and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.  Any Student may bring their own Easter Baskets. The Recreation Commission will also pass out  egg bags  for anyone who wants.  For more information please contact Jim Moore at:   bogotarec@gmail.com . This is a free event.

        Save The Animals Rescue Team II (S.T.A.R.T. II) is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating the plight of homeless and abandoned companion animals. Twice a week we visit a local pound and take as many adoptable animals as we can. These animals are provided veterinary care, clean living conditions, exercise and socialization.
