Thursday & Friday until 13-April
Bogota

 The library is again working with AARP this year to provided assistance in tax preparation. This will be available on Thursday and Fridays from now until Saturday 15- April.  This is targeted to anyone over the age of 60 who could also be collecting Social Security .

Continuing 
  Starting on Sunday-1 July-2018 the Borough of Bogota will change the ordnance in what can be recycled. Bottle & cans recycling pick-up the Borough of Bogota will now be limited to: Aluminium, Glass, Bi-metal/Tin cans. Aluminium foils and pie plates will be accepted but must be clean. Plastic Containers with the symbol  1, 2, or 5  only  will also be accepted.   All recyclable material must be placed in  reusable trash receptacles.  Items places in plastic bag will not be collected. Paper and cardboard recycling remains unchanged.
   The  collectible the products that have been removed from the accepted list will now be accepted by The Borough of Bogota in cooperation with the Ridgefield Park  environmental commission and collected in a separate way. The Trex Corporation has provided bins to accept the following item. Grocery bags, bread bags, case overwrapping, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, wood pellet bags, zip lock & other re-seal able bags, produce bags, bubble wrap, salt bags, and cereal bags. All  recyclable materials must be clean, dry and free of food residue. For every 500 pounds of plastic collected the Trex Corporation will donate a new park bench, made from recycled materials. The benches will be donated to both Bogota and Ridgfield Park on a rotating basis. As of now a Trex collection bin is in the lobby of the Bogota Borough Hall and  the Bogota Public Library can be accessed  during  regular business hours. More bins are planned for other locations in the future.
  The collection day under the new rules will be Thursday-5-July (due to the Fourth of July Holiday) Then every other Wednesday.

Friday- Sunday-1-3-March
Teaneck, NJ
 Black Box Performing Arts Center will present a new work " How to transcend a Happy Marriage"  by Sarah Ruhl. This will open on Saturday 2-March with a 8:00p curtain, and run to Sunday -17-March. Curtain times are Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 8:00p, Sunday: 2:00p
Tickets are prices at $30.00 for Adults and$25.00 for Students & Seniors
Tickets can also be purchased at the venue.

Monday-3-February 
Bogota
 The Bogota Public  Library will have their Youth's Sewing Club meeting.  This is  open to  Students ages 9-18.  This will teach anyone the art of sewing. There will be a chance to learn machine, and hand sewing as well as shown different project and types of material. Monday-3-March
Bogota
     The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

The Bogota  Public Library will have  story time reading  starting at 10:30a. . This is open available to any Student wishing to join in.  This will be held  under the tree in the Nikki Spiegel Story Time Corner. Thursday-7-February
Bogota 

The Bogota Board of Education will be  holding a meeting about free preschool for the residents of Bogota for the 2019-20 school year. This meeting will be held in the Bogota high School Cafeteria located on the second floor of 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ. The meeting is scheduled to start at 7:00p. The meeting will explain the requirements for enrollment, and other information. There will be a lottery to determine which Students will be accepted.  Only Student age 3 on or before 1-October will be eligible  to apply. Lottery applications may be pick-up starting on Monday-4-March and will continue until Friday-28-March for the school year starting in September 2019 . Application are available at the Board of Education offices located at 1 Henry Luthin Pl.

La Junta de Educación de Bogotá realizará una reunión sobre el preescolar gratuito para los residentes de Bogotá para el año escolar 2019-20. Esta reunión se celebrará en la cafetería de la preparatoria de Bogotá ubicada en el segundo piso de 2 Henry Luthin pl. Bogotá, NJ. La reunión está programada para comenzar a las 7:00p. La reunión explicará los requisitos para la inscripción, y otra información. Habrá una lotería para determinar qué estudiantes serán aceptados.Solo el estudiante de 3 años de edad o antes del 1 de octubre será elegible para aplicar. Las solicitudes de lotería pueden ser de recogida a partir del lunes-4-marzo y continuarán hasta el viernes-28-marzo para el año escolar comenzando en septiembre 2019.    The Bogota  Public Library  host their Toddler play group. This is an opportunity for   young children and their Parents to play and relax in a safe area.     The Bogota Public Library will host a workshop for young athletes in Bogota  This will be the first of four Saturday's to encourage Students to learn more about how learning any sport can be beneficial in everyday life. It will be in two separate age groups.  One group for anyone ages from 2-7 will run from  11:00a. to noon.  All Students who participate must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian through out the event. This is a free event, but anyone attending is asked to register with the library in advance.

   The Bogota Public Library will hold the next meeting of its Genealogy Group. This is open to anyone who may be interested in learning  more about exploring a Family   background, or  just would like to assist others working  on their history. This will met on  the second Saturday of every month,  starting at 10:00a.  The Ridgefield Park Elks Lodge # 1506 will be holding a Breast Cancer  awareness fund raising Dinner This will start at 2:00p tickets are priced at $25.00 per person and reservation are required .  Price includes a buffet meal and dessert.
