Board of Education

On Tuesday 12-September the Bogota Board of Education held its work session meeting for September. In his reports section Superintendent Mr. Damain Kennedy talked about the opening of the building during extreme heat. He explained that the age of the building are a hindrance to provide full air condition on all classrooms. He added that once the building electrical systems has been updated that issue can be addressed. In the future the District will allow for more shorten school days when needed. Then Superintendent Kennedy announced the District will apply for a grant to offer a high impact tutoring for third and fourth grade Student needing after school or Summer tutoring. Next to said that Bogota is one of only 11 districts that has been awarded a School based mental health grant. Bogota will work with Fairleigh Dickerson University to train future Psychologist in order to support Student mental health. It will be a five-year program which will assign College Student as interns work with the District Students.
  Then the Board of Trustees considered the items on the consent agenda. All items were moved to vote on at the regular meeting. After their closed session the Board approved Ms. Jennifer Grom as a Special Education Math Teacher. Ms. Grom will start after she is released from her current contract.
  The next Board of Education meeting will be Tuesday-19-September at 7:00p. This will take place in person in the cafeteria located at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ and online. This meeting is open to the Public. For more information, please go to: https://www.bogotaboe.com/
