 2-September-2023
On Friday-1-September the Bogota Football Bucs opened their season on the site of the old Yankee Stadium. The played the Capital Preparatory Harlem Charter School Lions on the Macombs Dam field in the Bronx. The first quarter saw both teams have little positive yardage on their possession. Near the end of the quarter the Bucs defense again held the Lions from converting on fourth down. At the start of the next 12 minutes Bogota opened the scoring on a 13-yard run by Joseph Perpepaj. The extra point failed, and the Bucs would have a 6 to 0 lead. As the first half was nearing the end Capital Prep. scored on a pass and run from near mid-field.  Their try at the extra point was stopped and the first half ended with the score tied at 6.
Bogota had the only points in the third quarter with a second major score from Joseph Perpepaj. This was a 15-yard run to the left corner of the endzone.  Mr. Perpepaj would then run straight ahead for the two-point conversion and a 14-6 Bucs lead. In the final quarter the Lions started to move into the Bogota half of the field. The Bucs defense then forced a fumble which was recover by Jaydin Gonzalez. Mr. Gonzalez would finish the drive he started by running 21 yards into the endzone. Justin Roca added the last point of the game with his extra point.  Bogota would cross back over the George Washington Bridge with a 21 to 6 victory.
They now have a record of 1-0, and next play on Saturday-9-September at Harrison, with a 1:00p kick-off.
