Weekend Sports

On Friday 8-September the Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team hosted the Lady Patriots from Secaucus. Bogota would win the first set 25-15. Secaucus took the second set 25-17.  Midway into the third set the Lady Bucs held a five-point lead. Secaucus would tie the set, then took over the advantage. The Lady Patriots sat on 5 match points, but Bogota closed that margin to just one.  Secaucus finally got the winning set point for a 2-1 Match win. Bogota's record is now 1-1 and they next play on Tuesday 12-September when they travel to Palisades Park starting at 4:00p
  On Saturday-9-September the Bogota Cross Country Buc opening their 2023 season at Darlington Park. This was the Season Opener Invitational meet.  In the Women's Freshman race Lily Ojo placed 8th for the Lady Bucs out 29 runners. In the Men's Freshman race Raymond Ehrmann was the top Bogota finisher in 9th place. Jayden Inga and Ernesto Santana came in at 22nd & 23rd respectfully. 
Austin Schaeffer was in 39th with Gavin Burnett at 48th. As a team the Freshmen Men's placed 3rd out of the 5 teams competing.
  The Lady Bucs Varsity team finished fifth out of 14 other schools. The top Bogota runner was Isabel Michel placing in 11th.  Ana Michel in 20th, Taitum Sandoval-Diaz in 28th, Sofia Sanabria Rosso at 37th and Isabella Cruz took 42nd. In the Junior Varsity race Mariana Garcia came in at 17th. In the Men's Varsity race Emmanuel Marin came in 4th, with Zohaib Syed in 22nd and Hussain Salam in 24.  They are next run-on Wednesday 13- September at Garret Mountain starting at 4:00p
  On Saturday-9- September the Bogota Football Bucs traveled to Harrison to play the Blue Wave.  Bogota opened the scoring in the first quarter on a 40 yard pass play from Ryan Lewis to Michael Olivio for a touchdown. This was Mr. Lewis' first Varsity Touchdown throw. Justin Roca would add the extra point for a 7-0 lead.  In the second quarter Mr. Olivio account for his second major score of the game. This time in was a 25-yard pass from Joseph Perpepaj. Mr. Perpepaj then ran in for the two-point conversion. and put the Bucs ahead at thew half by a score of 15-0. 
  Durning the break officials ended the game due to weather concerns. This gave the Bucs a 15-0 win. Bogota is now 2-0. They next play on Saturday-16-September when they host Manchester. This will be the Home Opener at Fiegel Field with a 1:00p kick-off.
