2023 Winter Concert

On Friday-15-December the Bogota High School Fine Arts Department held their Winter Concert for 2023.  The Concert Band took the stage under the Direction of Mr. David Abraham. This year the Musicians were arranged in a new formation; the entire band faced the Audience which allowed for a more direct sound to the listeners. Their show consisted of four selections with a winter theme. Durning the second song " You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch" The Grinch himself, joined by this dog Max, made an appearance.  Since they were behaving themselves, Mr. Abraham allowed them to accompany the band during their song. For the Concert Bands final number, they were joined by the Concert Choir in a rendition of "Carol of the Bells".
  After the intermission the Concert Choir took their places on stage under the Direction of Mr. Michael Prachthauser. They performance three numbers with the accompaniment of Ms. Harmony Chau on the Piano.  For their opening song of "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year " This feature Mr. Luis Ferrera on Drums, Mr. Robert Marrugo on Bass, and Mr. Niko Grimaldi on Clarinet.    The next tune was "Carry the Light" there was solo performances by Ms. Angelina Grod, Ms. Isabell Guzman, Ms. Chelsea Pena, and Ms. Aili Wu.
The Purple Notes then started their part of the show with their version of " The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" Also featured was the Saxophone Quintet with Ms. Cynthia Aparicio, Mr. Wilson Gamez, Mr. Niko Grimaldi.  Mr. Nathaniel DeLa Torre, and Mr. David Abraham,
   The final performance of the evening was by the Bogota Jazz Band offering three seasonal Carols. Before finishing with "Blue Skies" Drum Major Mr. Wilson Gamez Chitic said a few words.  He first congratulated all the performers for their skills and work starting with Band Camp in the late Summer to the rehearses for this show. He continued in thanked the Parents for their support and then Mr. Abraham for his leadership devotion for making them better Musicians.
  The Fine Arts Department next events are the Spring Musical of "The Lighting Thief" on Friday and Saturday 14 & 15 March. The Spring Concert on Friday-16-May, and their leading the Bogota Memorial Day Parade on Monday -29-May. 
  Parents of all Bogota Fine Arts are welcome to join the Band Parents Organization at their meeting on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:30p in the Bogota Recreation Center located at 162 W. Main St Bogota, NJ
