Leaf season started on Tuesday-10-October until Monday-18-December. Homeowners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting in the street, along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is asked that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding, or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -18- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

The Bogota Recreation Department will hold its annual House Decorating Contest. This is open to all Bogota residents and will have three categories. The house decorating will be judged on Dec 22nd.    On Wednesday-29-November the Bogota Middle School has put up a Giving Tree in the main lobby. They are looking for any sized, gently used (or new) winter coats, new hats, new gloves, gently used toys (puzzles/board games/books). Donated items will be hung on the tree or place them under the tree as they come in. The General Public can donate items in the morning from 7:30a-8:15a at the front entrance and again from 2:45p-3:15p. There will also be a donation box outside during school hours.  All donations will go to families in need for this holiday season. This will continue until Thursday-21-December. Ms.  Mary Wynman is organizing a Senior Citizen Care Packages collection drive. She is looking for donation of soaps, toothpaste, shaving kits, kitchen towels. hand sanitizer, tissues and other personal hygiene items. Gloves, scarfs, hats, and other cold weather clothing are also needed.  She will also except adult coloring, color pencils, holiday pens, crafts, holiday socks, ornaments, back scratchers candies, cookies, decks of cards. All donations should be dropped off on, or before Monday-18-December at 210 Cypress Ave, Bogota.
 Donations will be distributed with the help of "helping hands" starting on Thursday-21-Decemebr to Sunday-24-December.For more information please contact her at 201-906-3566.

   Members of The Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept. will be escorting Santa on his Lollipop tour of the Borough. This is a chance for the Bogota Children to show Santa that they have be nice this year. He starts his tour at about Noon with Lollipops being passed out by his helpers.  Santa asked every coming out to watch from safe distance while staying on the sidewalk.

 The Ridgefield Park Elks Lodge # 1506 will host a Tuesday Night Dinner will be Pasta with Meatballs, Or Sausage, with salad and desert.  This will take place in the Elks lodge is located at the 30 Spruce St. Ridgefield Park, NJ.  The event will start at 6:00p a with a donation of $12.00 per person.  Dinner will include salad and desert. The Ridgefield Park recycling center will be close on Saturday December 23.  It will reopen at its regular time on Tuesday-26-December

Sunday-24-December
Bogota
   Santa will again tour Bogota again driven by members of The Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept. He will be offering Christmas wishes one more time, before all the good children go to become snug in their bed.  This will start with the East side of the Borough at 5:00p and travel all through Bogota. He will then return to the North Pole so he can begin delivering present for Christmas  Morning.
