Weekend Events

10-August-2017

   Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the weekend  starting on Thursday-10-August.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

Continuing
 Starting on Thursday-16 March the  Lt William Ryan Bridge will be closed for replacement.   Construction is schedule to take 10 Months to complete. 


                                                                       
Thursday-10-August
Bogota
   The Bogota Public Library will host Kids Craft  a workshop and make something to coincide with the "Build a Better World" theme. It will held in the second floor Senior Centre and start at 11:00a and is a free event.  This event will have stations for Toddlers, Students in 1-3 grades and 6-8 grades.  Anyone wishing to attend is asked to register.  To register for this event, or for more information please  about this and other Library events visit their web site at :  http://www.bogotapubliclibrary.org/

The  Bogota Public library will present the movie "Boss Baby"  This will start at 6:00p and be held in the Seniors Center on the second floor. Admission is free with snacks  and water available for $1.00 with the process going to help fund future Library events.   The Teaneck Farmers Market will be open from now until Thursday 26-October from 12:00n to 5:00p It is located in the  Beverly Rd parking lot at Garrison Ave  Teaneck, NJ

   The Cedar Lane Business  District will host a series of "Dance with US " starting at 7:00p. This will be held  the Chestnut Ave open space between Chestnut Ave, and Cedar Ln in Teaneck, NJ. This evenings lesson will be on the "Merengue Instructions will be provided by Lauren Faustini. This is a free event, and open to all ages and skill levels.

The Bogota  Public Library will host their weekly Fit Club. Bogota
   The Bogota Swim Club will host its annual Camp-out. This is an opportunity for Families to spend the night out and sleep under the stars. There will be swimming until midnight along with movies, games, and water slide. Free S'Mores will be available at midnight. This is open to all Members and to non-members of the Bogota Swim Club. Advanced registration is $7.00 for members & $10.00 for non-members. At the door is $10.00 & $15.00 respectfully. Tents set-up begins at 7:30p  Lights out at 12:30a. The snack bar will be open, but  campers may bring their own food. It is asked that no glass containers be used.

Hackensack, NJ
 The final event of this seasons Main St. Live Concert Series will take place in the Atlantic St. Park in Hackensack. This will be a LGBTQ pride concertand  is schedule to begin at 7:00p  This is a free event with limited seating , it is advised to bring a blanket, or folding chairs.

  There will be bonus session of  Bogota Beautiful's  Yoga in the Park classes. The added classes, by popular demand, and will be held today. These continue for the next several Saturdays in August. Classes will be one hour and will take place each in Olsen Park and start at 9:00a. Classes will be led by  Professional Yoga instructor Denise Mercado. These classes are open to anyone regardless of age, or  experience.  The classes will meet at the Bandshell in Olsen Park depending on the number of attendees classes may be held in the bandshell or on the lawn in front of the bandshell. Everyone you wishes to attend is required to provide their own mat, towels, and water. Comfortable clothing that will allowed  free and ease of movement  should be worn. This is free to the public, however it is asked to contact  Bogota Beautiful at there website: bogotabeautiful.com to make a reservation for as many dates as you wish.  Bogota Beautiful will also have yoga mats available for purchase if needed  Please also visit the same website for more information or to donate to: bogotabeautiful.com

Ridgefield Park
   The Elks Lodge #1506 in Ridgefield Park will be holding a Pasta Dinner and Raffle night. This will held on the upper fllor of the Elks Hall located at the corner of Spruce and Cedar Sts. Doors will open at 5:30p and dinner will be served at 6:30p Tickets are priced at $25.00 per person and will include  dinner, desserts, and one sheet of small prize ticket. A cash bar will be available.  Process from this event will go to fund the Elks Charity fund. For more information  or to purchase tickets please contact Cathy Hamilton at the the lodge.

 The Bogota Public Library's Nintendo club will host a Pokken championship starting at 6:00p

The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

Hackensack, NJ

     The City of Hackensack will have its next session of the  Sunset Zumba series at the Atlantic St. Park. This is schedule to start at 7:30p, and is free to the public. Is this open to anyone wishing to practice, or learn about the benefits of Zumba Dance, regardless of skill level. Everyone you wishes to attend is required to provide their own, towels, and water. Comfortable clothing that will allowed  free and ease of movement  should be worn.
