Bogota Basketball

   On Thursday-2-March    the #4 Bogota Buccaneers  played #5 Patterson Charter School  Lions in a second round game of the  NJSIAA North 1 Group 1 Tournament. The game quickly turned into a track meet as both team used their speed to try an find an advantage.  With the game close midway through the first quarter Bogota started to rain down Three Point Baskets to build an ten point lead by the end of the quarter. Bogota then denied the Lions a point for most of the second quater.  Patterson Charter built some momentum before the half ended, but Bogota took a 38-23 lead into the locker room. The Lions settled their  game down and slowly cut into the Bogota lead. The Bucs were still able to hold the lead going into the final eight minutes. 
   At the start of the fourth quater the Bogota student section rose as one in show their support for the Bucs.  The Students remained on their feet for the rest of the game cheering their classmates on. Then  with the lead cut to six points the Buccaneers found ways to break the Lions press and added 23 more points on their way to a 67-54 win. Tim Uzor had a game high of 18 Points including 3 Three Point Baskets, Dieker Padrino had 17 Points with 2 Three's , Chris Castillo had 13 Points with one Three Point Basket, and Argenis Soriano scores 12 Points with 2 Three's.
   #4 Bogota now moves into the  North 1 Group 1  Semifinal game at #1 Verona on Saturday-4-March. This is scheduled to have a tip-off time of 5:30p
