Earth Day

   On Saturday-5-May Ridgefield Park held their Earth Day Green Fair at Riverfront Park.  Again this year it was co-hosted by the Borough of Bogota's Environmental Commission. The event started the the Villages annual Bird Count, and then their Arbor Day Ceremony followed.  For the Green Fair there where a number of table set up for attendees to to find information on how to live and work in an environmental respectful way. Government organization such as the Ridgefield Park Environmental, and the Shade Tree Commissions were on hand to inform and teach the public of  what programs are available in the Village.  Some nature centers include the Wildlife Conservation and Educational Center. The Turtle Creek Conservancy , and the Tenafly Nature Centre had displays of wild animals to view up close and to learn more about. A few Community groups from Bogota Beautiful and the Ridgefield Park Boys Scout showed the public the ease of becoming involved in local group can improve a community. Also in attendance was members of the Wanda Canoe Club and the Hackensack River Keepers showing how an heath river and environment benefits the towns along the water. There were also a few demonstration about Science and Conservation for the Student  to learn about the importance of a clean and healthy environment. Live music was provided by Mark Rust through out the day.
