Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball

4-November-2018
On Saturday-3-November the #2 Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team hosted the #10 Delaware Valley Lady Terriers from Frenchtown NJ.  This was a Quarterfinal round match of the 2018 NJISSA Group I Women's Volleyball Tournament played at Speary Gym. Delaware Valley came off an upset win of # 7 Midland Park two days before, and had not lost a game during the Tournament. Bogota also came into the match without losing a Tournament game.
The first game started with the Lady Terriers taking a quick lead after the first 3 points.  The two teams would stay even with the game being tied at 11 apiece. Bogota had Amy Chavez servicing and would break the tie and give the Lady Bucs a small cushion to play with. Ms. Chavez was followed in serving by Brianna Lozano  and would help Bogota extend their lead on the way to a 25-21 win.
In the second Game Bogota would start strong and open up a double digit lead over Lady Terriers. Delaware Valley would put together a few small scoring runs, but Bogota would regain control of the serve and post a 25-13 win, and a 2-0 Match victory.  In the second game Amber Vazquez would return to the line-up after a month off from a Lower Body injury. Leila Ksiyer and Nylene Mateo both led in Kills, with 10, Service Points with 8 including 2 Aces. Alyssa Vazquez had 26 Assists. Kiara Polanco had 2 Blocks, and Amy Chavez & Julianne Corniel recorded 6 Dig each.
The next play # 6 Kinnelon in a Semi-Final Match on Wednesday-7-November. This will be played at Speary Gym and have a first serve scheduled for 7:00p.
