Special Meeting

 On Thursday-29-October the Bogota Borough Council held a special meeting to hear  public input about a proposed new Community Centre.  This was held to satisfy New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's The Green Acres program. Green Acres missions is to  achieve, in partnership with others, a system of interconnected open spaces,whose protection will preserve and enhance New Jersey's natural environment and its historic,scenic, and recreational resources for public use and enjoyment.  This is required because  approximately 0.5 acre of Olsen Park of outdoor and open parkland, would be used for an public indoor facility. 
  Bogota Mayor Chris Kelemen opened the meeting by reading statement from Green Acres on the Borough's request for a change in the status of the area in Olsen Park for construction of the Community Centre.  The meeting was then open to Citizen's comments. No member of the public offered to speak, and the session was closed. With that the meeting was adjourned. 
   Any comments submitted on this request could be sent to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Green Acres Program, Bureau of Legal Services and Stewardship, Mail Code 501-01, 501 East State St., P.O. Box 420, Trenton, New Jersey 08625-0420, Attention: Bergen County Steward.
Public comment on this proposed change in purpose or use will be accepted during the public hearing or until November 12, 2020. On or after Friday January 29, 2021, the Borough of Bogota may take formal action to approve the proposed change in purpose or use.
