Earlier in the week the Township of Teaneck announced that all the municipal buildings will be closed to the Public starting on Monday-16-November. This decision was made after the New Jersey Department of Health reported the daily covid-19 cases have risen to numbers not seen since the peak of the pandemic in April. All in-person township business will be conducted by appointment only. This policy is intended to reduce the transmission of the coronavirus as they deal with the second wave, and to keep the workforce and facilities safe while providing efficient and effective service to the residents and customers.
Public Works and the Recycling Center remain open without any interruptions in service. However, an appointment must be made if anyone is picking up a new recycling container. Please do not show up at the main administrative office without an appointment. All visitors with an appointment will be screened before admittance. A Covid Ambassador will conduct a temperature check by using a non-contact digital thermometer. Anyone displaying a temperature of 99.5 or above will be denied entry. Masks must be worn at all times. If anyone is not feeling well, or experiencing any symptoms of covid-19, they are advised to stay home.
The secure municipal drop box is available 24/7 and emptied every morning. The drop box can be used for all municipal business. Employees are available by telephone and email to answer questions during normal business hours.  Information and a directory on how to make an appointment can be found on the Township's website. Hours of operation remain the same, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a. to 5:15 p, and Tuesday from 8:00 a. to 7:00 p. The Teaneck  Police and Fire departments will remain open 24 hours a day.
