Ridgefield Park Basketball

   On Tuesday-26- January the Ridgefield Park Basketball Scarlets opened their 2021 Season against the teams from Ft. Lee.  The Lady Scarlets traveled to Ft. Lee to play the Bridgewoman. Ft. Lee  took an 11-9 lead after the first eight minutes of play.  All of the Ridgefield Park came from beyond the arc. Ft. Lee continued to have the lead at halftime 21-16 and by three-quater time they led by eight Points. In the final quater the Lady  Scarlets started to close the point gap.  As time expired Ridgefield Park had one final basket, but ended one point short with Ft. Lee ending the game with a 41- 40 win. The Lady Scarlets' record is now 0-1. Ft. Lee's Yihsi Huag led all scorers with 14 Points. Nya Carroll has a team high of 13 points for Ridgefield Park. 
   They next play on Thursday-28-January against Cliffside Park. This will be the Lady Scarlets Basketball team home opener for the 2021 season.  The game will take place on the Dr. John C. Richardson Court and is schedule to have a 7:00p tip-off.  Due to the current health situation no fans will be allow to attend this game in person. This game will be lived streamed on the High School you-tube channel at: Ridgfield Park Athletics 
  The Men's  Basketball team hosted the Bridgemen on the Dr. John C. Richardson Court.  The Scarlets took the lead early in the first quarter and did not trail for the rest of the game. They held a 14-5  advantage at the end of that quarter. The next eight minutes saw the two teams trading baskets with Ft. Lee scoring one more point, but Ridgefield Park still took a 27-19 lead into halftime.  After the re-start the Scarlet took back control of the game and opened a 16 point lead at three-quater time.  The fourth quarter saw the Bridgemen shrink  the defect, but they could not hold the Scarlet offense at bay. Ridgefield Park would finish with a 62-49 home win. Their record is now 1-0. The Scarlets Jenci Reyes lead all scorers with 25 Points. Bemiwo Ogedegbe  had a team high of 20 Points for the Bridgemen.
  The Men's Basketball Scarlets will travel to Cliffside Park on Thursday-28-January, this is scheduled to have a 7:00p tip-off. Due to the current health situation no fans will be allow to attend this game in person.
