Weekend Events

 Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota for the weekend starting on Thursday-11-August.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added throughout the month.
  



Continuing    

  The Bogota Public Library has set out a box to collect old, and used Crayola coloured makers. Makers collected will be send to the Crayola company to be reprocessed. For more information please visit their web site at;  http://www.crayola.com/colorcycle

  A Family Orchard Terrace is still searching for their lost dog . This family is serving as a Foster Home for this Dog who will answer to the name Cleo or Celine. She is a 2 year Shepard mix Brown and Black in colour.  The foster family reported Cleo missing on Wednesday 16-Dec after arriving home from work finding a window broken and Cleo missing. Cleo was last seen wearing a red collar decorated with images of bones on it.  Cleo may be familiar with the area along River Rd. She is described as "fearful" and may ran from strangers.  Cleo has been with her Foster Family for only a few weeks so she may be looking for an older home, or more familiar surroundings.

 Bogota Beautiful is conducting a contest to find the Bogota resident with the most appealing curb presents. This is open to all homeowners in Bogota. The homeowner may submit their own residents, or  other resident for consideration. The general Public may also nominate any home in Bogota for consideration. Only the front and side yards are eligible to be nominated.  There are two different categories that will be voted on.  One is the most appealing landscape of any home in Bogota. The other category that will be voted on is the best improved lawn in Bogota. This is a contest for any Homeowner that is currently, or is planning to upgrade and improve their landscaping. Two set  of photos are required for this contest. A separate before  and after photo should be sent for consideration for this category. To enter  either , of both  contests  1 to 3 photos the  nominated lawn must be sent to bogotabeautiful@gmail.com  before  Sunday 31-July-2016.
    Photos will be posted on  Bogota Beautiful facebook page starting on Saturday 6-August for voting. To vote please "like" the photo. Voting is schedule to run through  Tuesday 16-August. The top 6 vote "like" getters will be entered into the final round of judge by a committee from Bogota Beautiful. Winners will be announced on Sunday 28- August. Bogota 
 The Bogota will have Thursday activities in conjuncture with their Summer reading program. There will be a story time reading  starting at 10:30a followed by Arts and Crafts.   The Teaneck Farmers Market will be open from now until Thursday 27-October from 12:00n to 5:00p It is located in the  Beverly Rd parking lot at Garrison Ave  Teaneck, NJ

Saturday-13-Aug.
Leonia, NJ

Joe D'Angeli  of The Wildlife Conservation and Education Center in Ridgefield Park will have a live animal demonstration at the Field Station Dinosaurs in Leonia, NJ. Mr D'Angeli will have some of the animals from the Wildlife Conservation and Education Center with him to show, and teach about their lifestyle.  He will have a few of thew bats from the center to talk about how the bat population in New Jersey is beneficial to local and state environment.   Field Station Dinosaurs  is located in the Henry Hoebel section of Overpeck Park off of Ft. Lee rd in Leonia, NJ

Sunday-14 -Aug.
Bogota
  The Bogota VFW Post #5561  will host an Indoor Swap Meet. This will be presented by the Eagles Nest Cycles.The Swap Meet will run from 9:00a to 5:00p and be held in the Upper Hall of the Bogota VFW.  This will be the chance for Motor Cycle enthusiasts meet with others who are interested in riding. There will be a chance pick-up parts, and swap other items, stories, and ideas. Food will be available. Admission will be $5.00 with tickets  available at the door.  The Bogota Public Library will present the latest meeting of  Coffee, Cookies, and Colouring. This is designed to have a moment of relaxation by joining other for some cookies & coffee while passing the time to do some colouring. This is open to anyone 16 years of age or over. Monday-15- Aug.
Bogota 
    The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.
