This Weeks Events

23-April-2017

 Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota  for the Week starting on Sunday-23-April.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

Continuing
  The Bogota Public Library is continuing its project to create the Nikki Spiegel Storytime Corner in the Library's main floor. To help off set the cost they have set-up a go fund me page at: https://www.gofundme.com/nikkispiegel.

 Starting on Thursday-16 March the  Lt William Ryan Bridge will be closed for replacement.   Construction is schedule to take 10 Months to complete. 



                                            
  This April the Bogota Public  Library will be having another Food for Fines Month.
The library will be accepting donations of non-perishable foods in place of overdue fines from our patrons. One item will pay up to $1.00 in fines. Items that are most needed are
canned meats, fish, vegetables, fruit, soups, beans, peanut butter, jelly, pasta, sauce, boxed rice, pancake syrup, hot and cold cereals, cake mixes, juices, and icing. We appreciate your generosity during this food raising event. All food will be donated to Bogota’s St. Joseph’s Food Pantry. Ends April 30th. 

  If you do not have any over due items from the Library they will gladly accept  any food donations during April as well.  The Bogota Public Library is located at  375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ. Starting on Starting -1-April the Bogota Police Department will begin its campaign to reduce distracted driving. Police Officers will be stationed throughout the Borough to obverse that anyone operating a motor vehicle in a safe and legally manner. The Police will be on the look-out for anyone using a cell phone for calling , or texting, along with other  ways which may cause distracted driving.




Monday& Wed.-24&26-April 
Bogota
 Starting this day the Bogota Public Library will have a members of the Bogota Girls Scout be available for Reading and Tutoring.     The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

Bogota

 The Bogota Public Library will host a discussion about the raise of "fake news".  This will be presented by Journalist Stephanie Schwartz, and held in the Teen Study area on the Library's First Floor. This will start at 7:00p. This event was originally scheduled for 18-April, but needed to be postponed one week.

 The Bogota Board of Education will have their regular meeting and work session. Action may will be taken at this meeting. This will be held in the Bogota High  School  Cafeteria starting at 7:30p. This is open to the public. The Cafeteria is located on the second floor at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ

Thursday-27-April
Bogota

    The Bogota Public Library will host a workshop about how to file for U.S. Citizenship. The Bogota Public Library will host Trivia Night . Mr Roman is scheduled  to ask the questions starting at 7:00p. The Bogota Public Library will host a Mini-Makers lab for Students age 4-6. This will be held on the library first floor in the Teen quiet study area.
