Bogota Sports

   On Monday the Bogota Lady Bucs Softball, and the Bogota Baseball Bucs baseball both played home games. Prior to this day's action the Lady Bucs lost at Pompton Lakes by a score of 1-6. This was played on Sunday 22-April. Monday's opponent the the Dover Lady Tigers at Lady Buc Field in Olsen Park. The game was scoreless for the first three and a half innings. In the bottom of the fourth Bogota was able to have three players cross the plate.  In their half of the fifth the Lady Tigers were able to score once themselves after having the bases loaded with no one out. A strike out by Madison Heck, a force play at home, and a routine ground ball allowed Bogota to keep its lead. The Lady Bucs added to the lead in their half of the inning with Ruby Recio  hitting a lead off Home Run, this was followed by a second Home Run by Alyssa Vazquez. Bogota was able to manufacturer on more run for a 6-1 lead. Dover was able to score twice in the seven, but could not get any closer, and Bogota  had a 6-3- win. Ms Vazquez would also hit a double, with Jayleen Arce recording a game high 2 Runs Batted In. Ms. heck would throw 10 Strike Out in the win. The Lady Bucs are now 7-3 and next play on Tuesday-24-April at Academy for Urban Leadership in Perth Amboy, NJ. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00p

   The Men's team lost to Waldwick on Friday by a score of 0-14.  On Monday they played the Defenders from Hawthorne Christian Academy at the Fiegel Field Baseball Diamond.  Bogota took a 1-0 lead during their first at bat. They would then score four more in the third inning. The teams would trade runs in the fourth inning to give Bogota a 6-1 lead. In the fifth inning  Jake Marino would hit a lead off Home Run and Bogota would win the game 12 -2.  Tim Barcon,  Ethan Brugger, Jake Marino, and Jose Marte would all record 2 Runs Batted In. Daniel Sanchez would strike out 8 in the win. Bogota's record is now 4-6. They are next schedule to play on Thursday-26-April at Emerson the first pitch is scheduled for 4:00p
