Bogota Basketball

On Thursday-17-January the Bogota Lady Bucs hosted the Ridgefield Lady Royals. Bogota would score first and have a 9-4 lead after the first eight minutes.  In the second quarter Ridgefield would pick-up their scoring and pull within 2 points of the Lady Bucs 17-15 just before halftime. After the restart the Lady Royal quickly tied the game at 17. This would be the first of three ties through-out the game. Ridgefield then created another tie 22-22 and took their first lead of the contest. The teams traded leads two more times until the Visitors expanded their advantage to 

four points at the start of the final quarter.  Bogota moved back ahead with a six point scoring run. Once more the game was tied at 31-31.  Three Point Baskets first by Emma Fowler, and by Laydin Cortorreal pushed Bogota to a 42-35 win. 

 The Lady Bucs Makayla Douglas had a game high of 18 Points. Amanda Montafur led Ridgefield with 14 Points.  Emma Fowler and Laydin Cortorreal each had 2 Three Point Baskets for Bogota. While Valerie Orbergozo recorded 2 Three Point Baskets for thew Lady Royals.

  Bogota's record is now 6-8. They next play on Friday-19-January hosting Palisade Park on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym with a 4:00p start.

 Bogota's Michael Olivo has been nominated for the North Jersey men's Basketball Player of the week.
